Greetings from Taiwan!
It is our great pleasure to announce that the 16th Asian Pacific Congress of Cardiology (APCC) organized by the Taiwan Society of Cardiology (TSOC) will be held in Taipei, Taiwan from December 13-16, 2007.
The 16th APCC aims to provide to all professionals who care for patients with cardiac diseases the opportunity to exchange ideas and share their experiences in research and clinical practice. Furthermore, it will also present the latest breaking scientific evidence through our comprehensive scientific programs, which cover a wide range of topics by invited lectures as well as the abstract-based program. We cordially invite you to this congress. With your active participation, we are firmly convinced the event will be much more fruitful.
Taipei is a lively and friendly city; it is not only well known for a variety of delicious cuisine and colorful nightlife, but also famous for its many cultural treasures, such as the world-renowned antiquities of the National Palace Museum, which is definitely worthy of your visit. The venue of the 16 th APCC, the Taipei International Convention Center , locates very close to the world tallest building (Taipei 101) and many famous sightseeing spots. Welcome Message by Chairman of Scientific Committee
As the Chairman of the Scientific Committee, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 16 th Asian Pacific Congress of Cardiology, to be held in Taipei from December 13 to 16, 2007. We will be focusing on “Meeting the Challenge of Future Cardiovascular Medicine,” and have speakers and presenters with expertise in the following areas:
- Development of angiomyogenesis and cellular therapy
- Update on guidelines for managing acute coronary syndrome/myocardial infarction
- New insights into the cost-effectiveness of drug-eluting stents
- Genetic/molecular diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias
- Recent advances in aortic/carotid/peripheral arterial surgical intervention
- Live demonstration of complex coronary intervention
The depth and diversity of the program will also cover an array of topics ranging from congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease, congenital heart disease, pharmacotherapy to epidemiology, as well as many others. We will provide an intimate forum for symposia, parallel sessions, abstract presentations, luncheon panels, networking and camaraderie.

Welcome Message by President of APSC
The Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology will be growing the organization to serve the doctors who have an interest in the area of cardiovascular medicine. One of the key events of the society is the Asian Pacific Congress of Cardiology.
The 16 th Asian Pacific Congress of Cardiology will be held from December 13-16, 2007 in Taipei at the Taipei International Convention Center . The scientific program is being planned by an excellent team of organizers to update the doctors on the advances in cardiovascular medicine based on emerging evidence based medicine.
